Patata di Bologna Dop: sono in crescita i numeri – dal punto di vista della produzione – per uno dei prodotti di eccellenza dell’agricoltura dell’Emilia Romagna.
Riconosciuta e tutelata dall’Unione Europea come prodotto Dop (riconoscimento ottenuto nel 2012), la Patata di Bologna si ottiene dalla varietà Primura, coltivazione caratteristica dell’area felsinea. I dati pubblicati a luglio 2020 dal Consorzio di Tutela (che rappresenta le oltre novanta aziende produttrici) segnalano un quadro di crescita molto interessante.
Nella stagione 2019/2020 la produzione ha toccato quota 11.229 tonnellate, con un aumento percentuale del 19,8% rispetto all’anno precedente e con una crescita addirittura del 127,5% rispetto a dieci anni fa (nella stagione 2009/2010 la produzione era stata pari a 4.936 tonnellate). Nell’annata 2019-2020 gli ettari seminati sono stati 357, in aumento del 36,3% rispetto a dieci anni fa, e con una previsione in ulteriore crescita (la stima è di 419 ettari) per l’annata 2020/2021.
Davide Martelli, Presidente del Consorzio di Tutela Patata di Bologna DOP, ha commentato in questi termini i dati: “è il chiaro segnale di un prodotto sempre più apprezzato dal consumatore. La Patata di Bologna DOP unisce una qualità che la rende unica nel panorama nazionale a una forte identità di prodotto intimamente legata al territorio, essendo l’unica patata italiana prodotta e confezionata in una sola terra, Bologna. A tutto questo si aggiunge la garanzia della certificazione DOP, a tutela dell’eccellenza secondo un rigido disciplinare“.
