Best of the Best Awards, arrivato quest’anno alla decima edizione, è il grande concorso per i migliori hotel del mondo organizzato da Virtuoso, il più importante network internazionale di luxury travel, con un portfolio di oltre 1.200 hotel e resort in più di 100 nazioni. Il 10 agosto 2016, nell’ambito della Hotels and Resorts Dinner al Bellagio Resort & Casino di Las Vegas, sono stati assegnati 50 premi, 5 per ognuna delle dieci categorie del concorso: Best Achievement in Design, Best Culinary Experience, Best Bar, Best Family Program, Best Spa, Most Innovative Guest Experience, Sustainable Tourism Leadership, One to Watch, Hotelier of the Year, Hotel of the Year. Sono sei gli hotel italiani premiati: J. K. Place (Firenze) nella top 5 della categoria Best Bar, Gran Hotel Tremezzo (Lago di Como) al primo posto nella categoria Best Spa, Hotel Eden Rome (Roma) al primo posto nella categoria One to watch, Il Sereno (Torno, Lago di Como) nella top 5 della categoria One to watch, Borgo Egnazia (Savelletri di Fasano, Salento – Puglia) al primo posto nella categoria Hotel of the Year , Mandarin Oriental (Milano) nella top 5 della categoria Hotel of the Year.
